Karen is a quilter, author, teacher, and designer who is known for her quilts of illusions. Teaching since 1988, she is in high demand as a teacher who encourages her students, makes learning fun, and makes the complex easy to understand!
Karen has been nominated as Quilt Teacher of the Year by students in 1995, 2000, and 2005. Her work has been displayed at quilt shows and in many quilting magazines.
She is the author of six books and numerous articles. Karen has appeared on many TV programs and has produced two DVD’s under her Karen Combs’ Studio company.
Karen has designed fabrics for Blank Quilting for eight years. Many of her fabric designs have become basics in quilt shops and fabric stores. She has recently partnered with Avlyn, Inc. to design their batik line as well as print fabrics.
She and her husband, Rick, live in middle Tennessee.
