She has been a contestant in the Paducah Quilt show, the Mid Atlantic Quilt Festival XVII and Hoffman Challenge has displayed her quilt in trunk shows. Currently she teaches at a local quilt shop, Patchwork Plus and also teaches classes locally and regionally. She loves to design and piece quilts which she sales patterns.

Her interest in fabric and quilts began on her mother’s knee as she watched and "helped" her sew beautiful garments for the seven girls in her family. Quilting was also inspired by her deaf grandmother, a master craftswoman, who patiently coached her stitches at an early age.

Barbara has been teaching classes since she was 20 years old. She loves interacting with her students and seeing them learn new techniques and tricks.

"I have taken quite a few quilting classes led by Barbara Cline. I started my classes with Barbara as a beginning quilter all the way through her intermediate classes. She easily adapts her teaching methods for all levels of quilters. She makes each class fun and interesting. She offers guidance from the selection of fabrics through the finishing of each project. Her classes are well paced and she allows for each person to work at their own speed. Her instructions are clear and she encourages quilters to put their own mark on each project with occasional pattern variations. It is always fun to conclude a class of Barbara’s with her sharing of one of her own life lessons."

"The class was wonderful! Barbara was very informative and personable. She made something that looks difficult really, very simple. Would love to take another class from her in the future."
Julia Graber, Brooksville, MS
"I have had the privilege to take numerous quilting classes with Barbara as my instructor. Barbara teaches a clear and concise method of quilting that engages her students. Barbara knows how to make her students feel a part of the class no matter what level of quilting they are at. She is so patience, understanding and helpful with all her students and goes out of her way in helping them master a technique or difficult method of quilting. Learning to quilt under Barbara's guidance is one of the many joys of my life."
Shirley Caplinger, Harrisonburg, VA

"Barbara Cline is the best quilting instructor I have ever had. She explains things in a way we can understand and encourages us if we have problems. Patience would describe her well; that’s what makes her such a special instructor. She makes her classes so personal. I love her classes so much that I fly from Atlanta, GA every month just to attend. Thanks Barbara for changing my world of quilting."
Twila Dove, Fayettesville, GA

"I have taken several of Barbara's classes and always complete them feeling as though I have come away with a ton more knowledge about than I had going in. My most recent class was a project from "Not Your Grandmother's Log Cabin" and I could not imagine having completed it without her guidance and explanation as to how and why the pattern was cut and put together as it was. She is always so patient and even gives out her phone number for those hurdles I simply can't seem to get over on my own."
