Sue is a quilt artist who exhibits and sells her work in numerous art or quilt shows across the US. With a degree in horticulture, flowers, gardens, and nature inspire Sue's art, and several of her quilts have won awards. She participated in the "Journal Quilt Project" every year of the exhibit, beginning in 2002.
She finds painting and sunprinting her own fabrics very enjoyable and therapeutic, with beautiful and unpredictable results. Flowers and leaves from her gardens become part of her designs as they are used for sunprints, and now photos of her gardens and flowers are being included in her art after being printed onto cotton or silk.
She creates pieces ranging from tiny quilted and beaded pins, postcards to mail, small quilts for framing, and larger wall hangings. Sue enjoys sharing her inspirations and techniques with others through her blog and by giving lectures and teaching.
